PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Computed Tomography (CT) Mammography Technologist Certificate Program is designed to provide registered radiological technologists with the necessary knowledge of the principles of MRI, CT and Mammography along with the related clinical competencies to be eligible to sit for the national certification examination offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This program consists of 9 months of online didactic training and 300 hours (approximately 6 months) of clinical training. The MRI, CT and Mammography certificate program at Johnson College offers three tracks:
TRACK 1: The MRI/CT program is an ongoing process and is available with a completed application and based on available facilities. Due to the limited clinical sites, this path is on a first come first serve basis for qualified applicants.
TRACK 2: The MRI, CT and Mammography program offers the student the option to start the program at their convenience, provided the student applicant can secure their own clinical site.
TRACK 3: This track offers the student the option to start the program at their convenience, provided the student applicant can secure their placement at their place of employment.
Applicants must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Ultrasound Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiation Therapy Technologist by program start. Radiography students who will be registry eligible may apply – but must be registered before the beginning of the MRI, CT, and Mammography Technologist Certificate Program.
In addition to being able to sit for the national Certification examination, participants who successfully complete the 9-month program will receive a Johnson College certificate of completion. Application reviewed by Program Director/Clinical Coordinator.
