Applicants must be a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Ultrasound Technologist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist or Radiation Therapy Technologist by program start. Radiography students who will be registry eligible may apply – but must be registered before the beginning of the MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program. Application will be reviewed by Program Director/Clinical Coordinator.
Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening
Applicants must be advised that if selected into the MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program, they must successfully pass both criminal background checks and drug screening and hold a current American Heart Association CPR card prior to receiving a clinical site assignment. The hospital affiliates will not allow any student into clinic without successful completion of these requirements. Students are financially responsible for exam costs and ensuring no lapses in certification during their clinical experience. Proof of medical insurance is required.
Johnson College partners with Revolutionary Screening Services in Olyphant, PA to allow applicants to conveniently complete all documents required at their facility in one appointment. Utilizing Revolutionary Screening Services is not required. Required tests are listed in the MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program Application.
MRI and CT General Questionnaire
Due to the delivery nature of this program, on-line didactic coursework and 300-hours of clinical experience, it is critical that students meet program requirements. Responding accurately to this general questionnaire will assist the College in ensuring all participants have the capacity to complete on-line didactic coursework and the clinical experience. The general questionnaire is included in the MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program Application.
MRI Safety Questionnaire
MRI involves the use of very strong magnetic fields that are always present, even when imaging is not occurring. It is not safe for some individuals to work in the presence of magnetic fields due to medical conditions, metallic and/or magnetic devices within their bodies. All applicants must complete a MRI Safety Questionnaire as a part of the application process. The safety questionnaire is included in the MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program Application.
Applications are being accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed for eligibility. Applications will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Conditional acceptance will be given to those who submit complete application packages and meet program eligibility. A spot in the program is only secured when payment, either in full or partial, is made.
Those who apply or make payment after the program is filled will be put on a waitlist for the next MRI and CT Technologist Certificate Program start for TRACK 1.
Incomplete packets will not be reviewed.
