Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Chairperson

Johnson College, Scranton PA is seeking a Chairperson for the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Program.  This individual will be responsible for managing and overseeing the PTA department.  Specific responsibilities include ensuring that the program is of high quality, coordinating and maintaining of programmatic accreditation, fiscal management of the PTA resources, continued development of this program’s Program Advisory Committee (PAC), oversight of all department personnel and engaging and preparing students of the department to meet or exceed their education goals.

Ideal candidates must have at least the following minimum qualifications:

a)      is a licensed physical therapist or a licensed, certified or registered (if required) physical therapist assistant (Must be licensed in Pennsylvania or be eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.)

b)      holds an earned master’s degree

c)       has five (5) years of experience as a PT or PTA that includes clinical practice, didactic and/or clinical teaching, and experience in administration

Associate Network Administrator

Johnson College is looking for an energetic multi-tasking Associate Network Administrator, who can work independently while supervising the Information Services Analyst.  The position offers opportunity to advance to the Director level with ownership of all networked systems and strategic initiatives.  The Associate Network Administrator will be responsible for management, support and security of hardware and software for networked servers and PCs in offices and labs, including Microsoft Windows XP/7 and Windows Server 2003/2008R2.

The position requires high level proficiency and hands on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MSSQL, VMWare Virtual Servers, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Windows Terminal Servers, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Forefront Client Security, Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway (formerly ISA), Symantec Backup Exec, SharePoint 2010, and SCCM 2007.  In addition the candidate will be managing a Shortel VOIP phone system with voicemail services and multiple Blackbaud™ products running on virtual servers, and a Ruckus wireless infrastructure.  The candidate will work closely with faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis.

Future projects include: development of a disaster recovery plan, desktop replacement plan with potential virtual desktop solution, SharePoint 2010 enhancements, utilization of Microsoft Enterprise Cal Campus Agreement software available, design and implementation of storage area network.

The candidate must have 5 years of proven experience working in an academic, or similar, environment designing, configuring, and supporting secure servers and PCs on a network.

An Associate’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is required, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.

A Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification is also required, with an MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) preferred.

Veterinarian Instructor (Updated October, 2011)

Johnson College is seeking Veterinarians for full time or part time teaching and instructional clinical assignments in our Veterinary Technology program beginning with the Spring Semester, January, 2012.   This position will involve teaching and mentoring veterinary technician students during their educational experiences at Johnson College.  Responsibilities include teaching in classroom and lab settings as well as instructing and performing duties in a clinical setting.

The full time assignment will involve both classroom teaching along with surgical and medicine  rotations through the Johnson College Animal Care Center, our hands-on small animal wellness center.  Part time assignments could involve a combination of classroom teaching or clinical rotations.

Ideal candidates should have a DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree, with at least four (4) years clinical experience preferred. Teaching experience and familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint also preferred.

The position(s) will begin in January, 2012 or in August, 2012.   Going forward, individuals will work during our academic year which extends from mid-August to mid-May.
