Personal Equipment Required
By the second class, all students must supply their own gloves, goggles, safety glasses, helmet, welding jacket, steel-toed boots, chipping hammer and wire brush

OSHA General Industry Safety and Health Training

Course Information
This 10-hour training provides an understanding of general industry workplace safety and health issues as they relate to OSHA standards, policies and procedures.
This training is designed for managers, supervisors and employees. Upon successful completion of the training, attendees will receive an official OSHA General Industry Outreach Course Completion Card as well as a Johnson College certificate of completion. What material is covered?
The OSHA-authorized outreach instructor follows the OSHA approved curriculum that addresses important workplace safety issues. Mandatory topics include:
- Introduction to OSHA
- Walking and Working Surfaces
- Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans and Fire Protection
- Electrical
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazard Communication
Elective topics include:
- Machine Guarding
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- Safety and Health Programs
- Lockout/Tagout
- Ergonomics
Upcoming Session: Spring 2011 – dates to be determined
Class will be held on Johnson College’s campus located at 3427 North Main Avenue in Scranton, PA.
Tuition: The fee is $200 per person. Johnson College alumni fee is $175 and Johnson College Students pay $100.
