Emissions Inspections Classes Scheduled

Automotive technicians who are interested in obtaining initial or renewed certification to perform the Pennsylvania Vehicle Emissions Inspection and Maintenance (I/M) Program may register to take the certification test at Johnson College. The testing sessions will be held on October 7 and 21 beginning at 4:00 p.m. The testing is held on the College’s campus at 3427 North Main Avenue, Scranton in Moffat Building Computer Lab 102.

The computer-based emissions test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Applicants must pre-register by calling Johnson College at (570)702-8979. Applicants desiring initial certification must obtain, and bring to the test, a user I.D. name and password from PennDOT, which can be obtained by logging on to www.delphi-iss.com/paim and a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

Applicants for re-certification are required to show their current emissions certification issued by PennDOT. Applicants are charged the testing fee of $15 and may pay by cash, check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover.

When registering with PennDOT, applicants will receive or will be able to download the information they need to review prior to completing the testing at Johnson College.
