This year Johnson College chose Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. (MFHS) as their beneficiary for the Annual Charity Basketball game to be held on campus Thursday, March 26th. Tip off will be at 6:00pm in the Moffat Gym.
Players from the College’s faculty, staff, and student body will face off against staff from MHFS in a fun filled night of basketball, bake sales, raffles, and games!
The event is open to the public and admission is $3 for adults and $1 for students. All proceeds will benefit MFHS in an effort to help the organization maintain and improve their services in our community.
MFHS is a non-profit health and human service organization working to improve the health of Pennsylvania women and children by offering programs that prevent disease, promote wellness, and empower individuals to realize the promise of better health.
Since 1971, MFHS has administered the delivery of essential and preventative services meeting the ever-changing needs of women, children and families through information, education and quality care. The agency oversees a diverse network of health and nutrition services in 16 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 120,000 individuals annually.
Katie Leonard, Director of Development at Johnson College and Member of the Board of Directors at MFHS, established contact between the two organizations. “This event is a great way to raise awareness of both organizations,” states Leonard. “I am thrilled to take part in such a unique and fun event that will benefit a wonderful non-profit in our community.”
