Johnson College will be the site of a Girl Scouts’ Design Squad Divas Camp this summer.
The camp’s theme is “Electrifying Music.” Participants will learn engineering basics and electrical concepts in order to build their own dance pads, pinball machines, and more. This camp also includes a field trip to see how music and movies are produced on CDs and DVDs.
Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania (GSHPA) has the notable designation of being one of only five Girl Scout Councils to receive a grant of $12,000 to offer this camp. The grant was provided by the Girl Scouts of the USA, Intel, and the PA Department of Education.
“Electrifying Music” is open to Girl Scouts as well as non-Girl Scouts in 6th through 10th grade. The camp will be held on the Johnson College campus in Scranton from June 28 to July 2, 2010, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Cost is $100 per person.
