Johnson College Students Volunteer at Toyland Workshop

Tags: , , , ,

On December 7, 2009, members of Johnson College’s Student Ambassador Program volunteered to help Employment Opportunity and Training Center (EOTC) set up their Toyland Workshop.

EOTC is a private, non-profit organization that provides workforce and family services to residents of Lackawanna County. Each December, EOTC hosts a Toyland Workshop to spread the joy of giving. Children from the families that EOTC serves can “shop” for gifts for family members in a room full of donated merchandise.

Johnson College’s Ambassadors served as Santa’s elves for the EOTC Scranton Area Family Center located at 541 Wyoming Avenue in Scranton. They decorated the center, sorted toys, tested items to make sure they worked properly, and prepared the workshop area for the children.

Eric Shager ’11, a Biomedical Equipment Technology student and member of the Ambassadors program, stated, “We were happy we could help children in need have a Merry Christmas.”

For more information on EOTC and their Toyland Workshop, please visit www.eotcworks.org or call 570-328-6493.

The Johnson College Ambassadors assist the College’s Admissions Department by providing information and advice to prospective students and their families.
