Johnson College Veterinary Technology Program Hosts Spay Day

Tags: ,
On February 24th, Johnson College’s Veterinary Technology Program performed forty-two spays and neuters for their annual spay day. The surgeries not only benefited the animals, but the greater community by helping to decrease pet overpopulation and providing a service to lower income families.

Three veterinary doctors from the community volunteered their time to the College’s project while instructors oversaw the students whom aided in the performance of surgeries and managed patient care.

Annette Palumbo, ’09, Moscow, commented, “It’s a good experience to be in a high paced environment…” while her classmate, Kimberly Petros, ’09, Larksville, added, “It made me really happy that people took advantage of [the opportunity.]”
