Mark Cornelius, Director of Clinical Engineering at Peninsula Medical Center in Salisbury, MD interviewed a Johnson College student and a Johnson College graduate for two entry-level Biomedical Equipment Technology positions on Wednesday, March 25th on the College’s campus.
Cornelius interviewed potential employees along with Shawn Jones, an Area Manager for Horizon CSA. Horizon CSA has 26 different accounts with hospitals across the nation to provide quality medical machines and maintenance. The two worked together in selecting the perfect candidates, who, according to Jones has, “…pride in what they’re doing. We’re looking for someone who’s driven, who has a great ability to communicate well with a piece of equipment.” They also have to, “…not forget the human side of what [they] do.”
Johnson College graduates have been employed by both Horizon CSA and Peninsula Medical Center in the past. The employers feel that Johnson graduates are well trained and well suited for their respective trades.
