As we enter into one of my favorite seasons, transition has never been more relevant. I’m currently transitioning into the position of Associate Director of Development here at Johnson College, and I couldn’t be more excited! My goals in this new role are to help alumni connect with each other and to create a community for our graduates.
One way to do this is by having ‘Get CoNNected’ receptions in cities across the country to encourage alumni to meet each other to network socially and professionally. If you haven’t seen our Get CoNNected postcard yet, you soon will!
Another way I’d encourage you to consider getting involved is by connecting yourselves through “social networking.” Johnson College has branched out into the wide world of social networking. We can be found on Facebook and LinkedIn and Twitter. All of these sites allow you to connect to friends and faculty as well as make some great social and professional connections.
Our Facebook alumni page is a great way to find former classmates, as well as enabling you to have instant contact with all things current here at Johnson College (and we post great pics!). Our newly created LinkedIn Alumni Group gives you the opportunity to network professionally with each other. We update our Job Board on LinkedIn daily and post tips for interviews and resume building. Twitter allows instant updates on events and campus activities. And make sure to sign up for the Johnson College Blog. The blog instantly emails you with Johnson College press releases.
So whether you’re able to remain connected to Johnson in person, virtually, or both, I hope we’re providing you with numerous opportunities to do so. As always, I invite your questions, comments and suggestions. I enjoy hearing from you and helping you remain coNNected to Johnson College!
